The CMU Women's Club Hockey Team was established in 2008. Since then, we have been a member of the Central Collegiate Women's Hockey Association (CCWHA) and American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division II which include Michigan State, Notre Dame, Northern Michigan, Loyola, and Adrian. Along with participating in our own league, scrimmages are scheduled with teams in other programs as well. During the season, we are on the ice two days a week and also include training off-ice. Games are on the weekends and may require to travel on Friday's.
We are a competitive team that takes each practice and game seriously, yet we still have fun. We strive to build a team that is also a family. Our program is dedicated to constructing strong leaders on and off the ice.
*No hockey experience is required. We welcome players with any level of experience to join.*
Ice bills vary each year but they cover ice time, conference/league dues, referees in addition to transportation and lodging. Meals are not covered by the team for away games. Players are also responsible for the purchase of jersey's, socks, pant covers, and for supplying their own hockey equipment.
We pride ourselves on the term "student-athlete" meaning that being a student comes first. Athletes are required a certain amount of study hours each week and they must maintain a 2.0 GPA or disciplinary action will be taken. To make sure our student-athletes stay on track, progress reports must be submitted to the coach half-way through each semester and at the end of each semester.
